Promoting Healthy Care.
CCAM Research Partners brings together a team of educators, clinicians, and providers who are committed to preventive, holistic, and patient-centered care, that is, integrative health care.
America has begun to look to integrative
health care to provide a viable and cost-effective alternative to care as
usual. We are on the verge of a new revolution in health care, made possible by
advances in genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, systems biology, and nutrition
science. This “perfect storm” is converging to create a more cohesive view of
how gene expression and disease development are directed by personal environmental and
lifestyle choices.
Ralph Snyderman, MD, Chancellor Emeritus of Duke University, and member of the Institute of Medicine, describes the evolving role of those who are involved with health care: "We're moving away from the belief that disease is caused by a (single) factor and that your job (as a doctor) is to find that factor and fix it. This reductionist approach has its place, but it is not sufficient. We should not be thinking simply of preventing disease, we ought to be talking about enhancing health and well-being." We agree. CCAM Research Partners educates, integrates and advocates for patient-driven health care. We promote healthy care. |
